If you feel a little nervous or apprehensive that’s okay. Most people do. If something here feels reassuring or familiar, that’s enough to take the next step. You’re welcome to reach out when you’re ready.

Starting Therapy‍ ‍

Beginning therapy can bring up a mix of emotions relief, hope, uncertainty, even nerves. That’s completely normal. Reaching out for support is a vulnerable step, especially if you’re used to managing things on your own.

You don’t need to have the right words, a clear goal, or a formal diagnosis to begin. Our first session is simply a chance to understand what’s been happening for you, what you’d like support with, and whether working together feels like a good fit for you We move at your pace, and you’re always welcome to ask questions along the way.

Accessing Therapy

There are a few different ways to begin therapy. If you’re unsure which pathway applies to you, your GP can help guide you.

Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)

Many clients access therapy through a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from their GP. This allows you to receive Medicare rebates for a set number of sessions per calendar year.

To access this:

  1. Book a longer appointment with your GP.

  2. Discuss your mental health and request a Mental Health Care Plan.

  3. Your GP will provide a referral to a psychologist.

  4. You can then book your first appointment with us.

If you’re unsure how this works, we’re happy to answer questions.

WorkCover

If your mental health concerns are related to a workplace injury or psychological claim, you may be eligible for support through WorkCover. This requires an active claim and referral from your GP. We can discuss the process and any documentation needed when you enquire.

NDIS

If you are self-managed or plan-managed under the NDIS and have funding for therapeutic supports, you may be able to access sessions through your plan. We take a neurodiverse-affirming approach and can provide therapy tailored to your goals.

Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP)

In some cases, therapy can be accessed under a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) through your GP. This pathway may provide a limited number of rebated sessions when psychological support forms part of a broader health condition management plan.
